Who Do Vulnerable Communities Trust During Disasters? Community Gatekeepers' Perspectives on Trust with Marginalized Populations in Eastern North Carolina

Drawing on fieldwork conducted as a Bill Anderson Fund Fellow, this paper examines how vulnerable and marginalized communities in Eastern North Carolina build and withhold trust during disasters, centering the perspectives of community gatekeepers who serve as critical bridges between institutions and the communities they serve.
